So here i am at experiment #349 - im currently living in Mexico City, working as a independent artist in custom findings and jewelry, as a digital UI designer for interactive media experiences, learning Spanish or losing English. (If i were actually living closer to the water i would add scuba diving to that list :)
These days im more of a digital metalsmith, although at one time i could raise a silver bowl or set a gem properly -- but i am a traveler and a wanderer and explorer. Its the problem solving that is interesting to me -- deducing the motion of a persons walk, how to compose music and create graphical worlds with 0s and 1s, how identical and yet so completely unique humans are across cultural spectrums....which always leads me back to this mechanical fiddling, traveling to find, looking up physical properties, learning about the history of, in and around beads. In my own little corner in my own little room i can be whatever i want to be. Its fabulous!
It makes me really happy to engineer findings, make jewelry, draw, animate anything and investigate the latest digital art technology and tools!!
I am also currently working on Metal Minutes videos to share my 25 years of experience in metal and digtal arts with fellow artists.
Drop a convo if you have an experiment in mind that i can make for you or just to share an experiment :]
Wishing you a great moment!!!

Re: A "Spin" off the typical Cork Board
Wow thx for this very cool and practical and good looking "bulletin" board. I'm living here in Mexico City and I cannot find plain cork board...only a $60 bulletin at Costco.

Re: Beautiful Handmade Findings for Sale on Etsy!
Hola Susan from SafariSister in Mexico City.
posted: 12:42 pm on January 25thI agree, Kira's work is very very nice! There's a couple of other artisans that are concentrating on handmade findings at etsy as well...just search "handmade findings".
I've also been on etsy over about a year now and am concentrating on handmade findings and am showing the love through Feb 14 by offering matching endpins with every pair of handmade Safarisister earwires (sorry for the shameless plug :o)
I offer all my findings in:
14KT Yellow Gold Fill
14KT Yellow Red Fill
14KT Yellow White Fill
Sterling Silver
Fine Silver
Copper
Brass
Most designs are available in square or round wires and can be oxidized at no additional fee.
I'm also working on "Metal Minute" videos to share my metal and digital art skills with other crafts folks -- stay tuned!
