I started sewing when I moved to a new state and didn't have any friends :( I love to make dresses out of great prints and purses too! I've made makeshift costumes for musicals I have been in and those have been the most fun to wear! I made an entire costume out of stuff from the Dollar Store! I'd love to be able to chat with people about practices and sewing procedures, about starting a business, and about how to not want to keep everything I make!

Burgess Meredith has nothin' on me!

Re: Book Giveaway - Dorm Decor: Remake Your Space with More Than 35 Projects

Well, I've been out of the dorms for ten years, but that doesn't mean my guest room (or even MY room) won't appreciate a little co-ed love!

Re: Sassy Stripes

This dress is awesome! I am nervous to work with stripes and matching them!
Rock on!

Re: How to Make a Clothespin Cake Topper

These are awesome! When my hubby and I eloped, but then had a reception anyway, we did everything ourselves, including makng our cake toppers! I made mine out of sculpey, but anything to make your wedding day more about you than keeping up with Bridal Magazines, the better! I'll post pictures of mine!

Re: Burgess Meredith has nothin' on me!

Thanks! I'll post my other costumes too. This year is going to be nuts! I'm going as Marie Antoinette and the hubby agreed to be Louis xiv (tights and all). My costume is going to have a mid calf length skirt for work appropriateness, then a super short one, for late night fun!
I wish I had an excuse to wear the penguin costume again...it was pretty pimp.

Re: How to Brighten a Rainy Day Brunch

These are great! I'm going to have to throw another party soon!

Re: How to Make a Stacked-Button Necklace

I was so inspired by this that I went on an ebay quest and found lots of plastic buttons and of Mother of Pearl Buttons. I thought the Mother of Pearl Buttons would look great stacked, but it's the tops, not the sides of those buttons that look so pretty. I was able to use those in another project, but am still putting together the best plastic buttons for this great idea!
Rock on lady!

Re: Book Giveaway: Backcountry Betty Crafting with Style

I love making stuff out of other stuff! I want to teach my niece and nephew all about nature and the great things it can for us and what we can then do for it! This book would be great for our adventures!
