Hey, here's a simple trick to make your tailored notched collars lay flat every time... cut your undercollar a smidge smaller than your upper collar (e.g., 1/16" - 1/8" smaller), then stitch as usual with edges even. The slight shorter undercollar pulls so your finished collar lays flat. Of course, different fabrics can vary so test first (with all your inner-workings). Good luck & happy sewing!!
