I was inspired to share this information with you because I just finished making a cool embroidered skirt out of my favorite pair of old jeans. To give this restyled garment some sparkle, I embroidered with some metallic threads. I was happy to find that some true tricks of the trade made the project easier, and the resulting skirt is now a new favorite.

Have you ever tried to embroider on leather? One would think it would be easy to work with because it’s obviously stable enough to support embroidery, but embroidering on leather has some surprising obstacles, such as stretching! Thankfully, these obstacles are easily overcome, and once you know what kind of stabilizer and needles to use, it’s a snap!
