Cat house scheme

There are two cats in the family. The eldest is the cat-aggressor and the younger, more mobile. Therefore, the design was designed so that the youngest could hide on the highest platform, and the senior, because of its weight, could not get there. They decided to place the house high, since both cats prefer height. They made it larger in size so that both individuals could be there at the same time.

For this design, thick furniture plywood (12 mm) with a size of 75 * 50 cm, pillars of timber 50 * 70 (4.2 m), a jute-based carpet - 1 * 2.5 meters, 20 meters of rope were purchased. Fasteners - corners. For the house - 15 * 20 mm, for mounting platforms - 40 * 45 mm, 55 * 20 and 35 * 40 - for insurance, and a couple of large - for mounting on the wall.

We prepare platforms and fasten to poles

There are three columns in the selected design: one 220 cm, the second 120 cm and the third 80 cm. They will be attached to the base of plywood sheet. On the base it is necessary to place the pillars so that the longest one is closer to the wall. In order not to confuse, when marking on a sheet, using a ruler and a pencil, we first drew a stencil on paper on which the arrangement of the columns was applied relative to each other. From the finished layout, the markup was moved to install the posts. They were fastened with long nails through the base (4 pieces each), drilling holes of slightly smaller diameter in plywood. Then they were fixed from the outside with angles 55 * 20 for a large pillar and 35 * 40 for smaller ones.

Using the same template, the place where the posts passed was marked on the platforms, then holes were cut out according to the marking for them. To do this, they took a 12 mm feather drill, drilled holes in the corners marked for installation of squares, into which the jigsaw blade perfectly passes. From experience: it is better to make slots under the posts for a millimeter or two more. The platforms still hold at the expense of the corners, and if you make the slot too small, it takes a long time to refine it with a file or sandpaper.

Before installing the platform, "try on", adjusting the slots as necessary. Having set the platform horizontally (use the building level) at the desired level, we mark with a pencil where the platform stands. According to this marking, then we set the corners, so that the marks are clear from all four sides. When all platforms are installed normally, we encase them with a carpet.

Assembly of the housing

Two pieces of plywood 75 * 50 cm were cut into 4 rectangles. They made a roof, floor and two side walls. In the manufacture of one of the shelves, there was a piece of plywood with a semicircular hole on the side. It was decided to make it an "entrance", and the back wall was cut from one of the pieces. It remains to assemble a house, which is very simple. Small metal corners were used, which were fastened with short screws.

Before covering the house with a roof, it was beaten from the inside, thus closing the fasteners and increasing comfort. Working inside the case is not so convenient, but you can handle it. The roof was beaten on both sides, after which they were fixed using the same corners, but placed them outside. Not very pretty, but not deadly. The finished house was fixed in the space allotted to it. Again, the corners were rescued, but the larger ones - 35 * 40 mm.

We wind the pillars

The last stage - we wrap the posts, making a scratching post. Fastening the rope to the pole is easiest with brackets. A few staples - and you're done. Further, tightly pressing one turn to another, we wind the poles in a spiral. We reach the barrier, again we fasten the rope with brackets and continue on to the next section.
